May is the Month of Mary
The Last Saturday of May is a day of Pilgrimage, a Rosary Pilgrimage to area Marian Shrines. This is to culminate the Month of Mary.
At the Skete we celebrate the Feast of the Visitation on May 31. This is moved from the modern-day July 2 date in order that the Visitation of Mary to Elizabeth happens PRIOR to the birth of John the Baptist (which is celebrated on 24th) rather than after.
